"I had to give full attention to our family, our home, and my job."

CAREER

As a young working woman with a family, I experienced the same problems as other families do: time management and prioritizing. Shuffling work, family commitments and taking college classes at night made for a very full day. When my husband's job required him to be away from home on long stretches, my focus had to change. I decided to put my college classes at Western on hold in order to give full attention to our family, our home and my job.

My first job was in real estate property management. I also worked as a teacher at Russellville Head Start, a position that I am honored to have served. I have been in logistics as a transportation agent for 27 years, working with Logan Aluminum for much of that time. My husband Stephen retired in 2009 from a supervisory position with Washington Group International, and still works part-time as a site project manager at T.V.A.
